Wish List
Food
The food our birds eat is readily available from your local supermarket or grocery store, but some can only be bought from pet stores. Natural foods are so much better for a sick bird than anything processed. Our raptors will gladly snack on any of the following:
- Mice
- Rats
- Quail
- Day old chickens
- Fish
- Chicken hearts (though these are a special treat!)
Medical
Having a well-stocked emergency kit can be the difference between an injured raptor making it through, and access to medical facilities improve the outlook of birds with injuries that require longer treatment plans. The following medical supplies are the ones most often used to treat our birds:
- Syringes
- Vet wrap (bandages)
- Betadine solution (antiseptic)
- Solosite gel (hydrogel wound dressing)
- Towels and sheets
- Pet packs (for transport)
- Larger ICU (controls humidity and temperature, keeps birds warm)
One of the most important things F4F can have is friends among the vet community with access to medical facilities. If you have access to any of the following, we would love to have you as part of the F4F Community:
- X-ray
- Equipped operating theatre
- Other diagnostic equipment
Funds
If you can't give food, or you don't have medical skills, F4F will always accept donations and put them to good use. What F4F is on the lookout for is more than just donations. We are looking for partners. Friends. Like-minded people interested in being a part of our mission. F4F is looking for private and corporate sponsors who are able to provide us with the resources we need to carry out what we do. If you are a person or organisation interested in making a commitment to our mission, we would love to have you as part of our community.
